Tattoo Care Guide

Tattoo Care method

The outcome of your tattoo depends not only on the artist’s skill but also on how well you take care of it.
Please read the following aftercare instructions carefully to ensure your tattoo heals beautifully.

Healing Process

A tattoo is created by inserting ink into the dermis layer of the skin, and the final result appears as the wound heals.
When the skin is wounded, macrophages become active, and this is when the color shows best.
Therefore, it is crucial to take care of your tattoo for at least one month after the procedure.

1. Avoid Water Contact

  • For the first 3 days, avoid showering. After that, keep showers brief and apply Bepanthen thickly if needed.

  • Showering with sterile soap is allowed.

  • If you sweat excessively or feel the area is dirty, you may rinse lightly with running water.

  • Avoid swimming pools, saunas, hot tubs, and the ocean for at least 2–4 weeks.

2. Avoid Alcohol and Intense Activity

  • Refrain from drinking alcohol for one month after the procedure.

  • For 1–2 weeks, avoid intense exercise, heavy sweating, and friction on the tattooed area.

  • Wear loose clothing during the healing period to prevent pressure or irritation.

3. Apply Ointment Very Thinly

  • The best method is dry healing (no ointment), but since this can be difficult in daily life:
Apply a very thin layer of ointment about 3 times a day for moist healing.

  • If available, tattoo-specific aftercare creams are recommended over general ointments.

  • Ink flakes or peeling skin may appear—this is a natural part of the healing process.

4. Sun Protection

  • Avoid direct sunlight during the healing period.

  • Even after healing, apply sunscreen SPF 50+ to protect your tattoo and preserve its colors.

5. Important Notes

  • Avoid secondary infection.

  • Be mindful of body temperature changes (alcohol, intense workouts).

  • If you experience severe redness, pus, or persistent pain, consult a medical professional immediately.

Pain relievers may be taken if needed, but note the following:

Recommended: Acetaminophen (Tylenol) → relieves pain without increasing bleeding risk.
Not Recommended: Ibuprofen, Aspirin → may thin the blood and cause bleeding, bruising, or ink spreading.

Touch-Up Policy

  • One free touch-up is provided.

  • Additional costs will apply if poor aftercare results in further touch-ups.

  • For tattoos with a soft and delicate style, touch-ups are generally not recommended, so proper aftercare from the beginning is essential.
